Donald Trump, who won the U.S. presidential election, arrived at the White House for a meeting with incumbent President Joe Biden. This marks the first meeting between Trump and Biden since the U.S. presidential election, where the Republican candidate won and will return to the presidency on January 20, 2025.
The two are expected to discuss the power transfer process, as well as domestic and foreign policy issues. Trump, who previously served as U.S. president after the 2016 election, won the presidential election held on November 5. He became the first politician since the 19th century to return to the White House after a four-year break. Democratic Party candidate Kamala Harris addressed her supporters, acknowledging her defeat, while Biden spoke with Trump to congratulate him. The Electoral College is set to vote on December 17 in accordance with the will of the voters, and on January 6, the new Congress will certify the results. The inauguration will take place on January 20.
