In Portugal, a plane got stuck at an airport on an island due to 132 escaped hamsters

In Portugal, a TAP airline plane was stuck at Ponta Delgada airport on the Azores for five days after 132 hamsters chewed through their transport boxes and escaped into the cargo hold.

The Airbus A321Neo was scheduled to fly to Lisbon with no passengers for a company maintenance check, but the departure was delayed due to the rodents.

It took maintenance workers five days to catch all the hamsters that had escaped. Afterward, the plane was able to fly to Lisbon without any further incidents.
