In a speech at the Patriots for Europe party alliance’s inaugural assembly in Paris, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán emphasized the importance of patriotism and a strong Europe. He noted the shifting global role of the West and the changing dynamic between Europe and America.
Orbán praised Marine Le Pen and Santiago Abascal for organizing the event and expressed confidence that Donald Trump, whom he called “the patriot himself,” would return to the White House. He argued that patriots now form the majority in the Western world.
He criticized the left for using legal actions to undermine conservative leaders, pointing to cases against Trump, Marine Le Pen, and others. Orbán also claimed the left is incapable of governing effectively, citing mismanagement in key areas like inflation, energy security and migration. He argued that patriots are the experts of the new world and called for bold leadership and decisive action, especially on issues like migration, which he stressed should be completely stopped.
Orbán declared that the Patriots goal is to protect borders, reject migration and remove those already in Europe. He expressed optimism about the right-wing’s growing influence in Europe, mentioning recent victories in France, the Czech Republic and Austria. He concluded by saying the era of patriots is approaching, with clear objectives and a plan to make Europe great again.
