EU delivers 1 million munitions to Ukraine, six months later than promised

The European Union has delivered the one million large-caliber artillery shells pledged to Ukraine, though the delivery came six months later than initially promised for spring.

EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs Josep Borrell confirmed the delivery in a blog post on November 18.

We have also just fulfilled our commitment to supply Ukraine with 1 million munitions, and by the end of winter, we will have trained 75,000 Ukrainian soldiers, Borrell stated.

He highlighted the unprecedented €45 billion in military aid provided to Ukraine but acknowledged that the current level of support is still insufficient to decisively change the situation on the battlefield.

Looking ahead, the EU plans to deliver more than 1.5 million munitions to Ukraine by the close of the year.
