According to a survey conducted by the American company Gallup, 52% of Ukrainians believe the country should be prepared to cede part of its territory to achieve peace. Meanwhile, 38% oppose this idea, and 10% remain undecided.
Previously, an identical percentage of Ukrainians — 52% — supported the need for a swift end to the war and the start of negotiations, according to Gallup.
Attitudes toward victory have also shifted among those advocating for continued fighting to reclaim lost territories. In 2022 and 2023, 92% and 93% of this group, respectively, believed that victory meant the full recovery of all territories lost since 2014, including Crimea. However, in 2024, this figure dropped to 81%.
At the same time, the share of those willing to consider victory as a return to pre-invasion borders as of February 2022 rose from 2% to 9%.
