Heavy snowfalls in Turkey: schools closed, there are dead and injured

Due to heavy snowfalls and adverse weather conditions, schools have been closed in 20 provinces of Turkey and several districts in an additional five provinces.

Furthermore, classes have been suspended in some areas of these five provinces, and restrictions will remain in place in certain regions until November 26.

According to Son Dakika, in Malatya province, rescue teams evacuated 787 people stranded in snowdrifts on roads. In the Hekimhan district, five shepherds were trapped in the mountains by snow. While they were successfully rescued, one of them later passed away in the hospital. Efforts to clear roads and assist citizens are ongoing.
