According to BILD, at least 12 schools in Brandenburg received threats. In Lower Saxony, schools in Hanover, Erfurt, and Leipzig were affected, and in Stuhr, near Bremen, classes were canceled.
The Bremen police are inspecting the Lisa Meitner School building using service dogs. Access to the building was restricted until the start of the school day. A representative from the Criminal Police Office (LKA) stated that this seems to be a large-scale operation. The threats were sent via email on Sunday, and authorities have established an inter-agency network to coordinate the investigation.
In Erfurt, threats were made against five schools. The police believe they do not pose a real danger. The messages were identical, and all were found in email inboxes on Sunday evening. The police conducted checks at three schools, including the St. Elizabeth Vocational School, the Walter Gropius School, and the Evangelical Gymnasium Ratsgymnasium.
The checks found nothing suspicious, and classes at Ratsgymnasium resumed without restrictions. In Hanover, threats were directed at four schools, but the police also did not consider them a serious threat. An investigation is currently underway to identify the senders of the emails.
