Lufthansa has extended the suspension of flights to Tel Aviv until the end of January

German airline Lufthansa has extended its suspension of flights to Tel Aviv, Israel, until January 31, 2025.

According to a statement from the company, the decision was made due to the ongoing tensions in the Middle East. The flight ban applies to Lufthansa, Austrian, Brussels and Swiss airlines.

Previously, flights to Tel Aviv had been suspended until the end of 2024.

In news, on November 26, U.S. President Joe Biden announced that Israel and the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah had reached a ceasefire agreement, which took effect the following Wednesday. Members of Donald Trump’s transition team later claimed that the agreement was reached due to Trump’s influence.

In late November, U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham stated that Trump aimed to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza and a hostage release agreement before his inauguration on January 20, 2025.
