Czech Republic stops receiving oil through the Druzhba pipeline

For unknown reasons, the Czech Republic has stopped receiving oil through the Druzhba pipeline.

Industry and Trade Minister, Lukas Vacek, confirmed the disruption in an interview with Novinky. According to sources, there is no indication that Russia intends to halt oil deliveries to the Czech Republic.

Unipetrol, which operates two refineries in the country, reported a delay in oil supplies from the pipeline. In response, the company requested that the Czech government approve potential oil deliveries on credit as a precaution.

Jakub Linik, a spokesperson for the Czech State Material Reserves Administration, assured that the country has enough oil and petroleum products to cover 86 days of consumption. The required 90-day reserve will be reached by the end of the year. Minister Vacek also confirmed that there is sufficient oil in the country.

Russia commented that all deliveries via the Druzhba pipeline on its territory are proceeding as usual. The Druzhba pipeline accounts for 58% of the Czech Republic’s oil consumption.
