Prime Minister Viktor Orbán reaffirmed Hungary’s commitment to protecting its sovereignty and the interests of its people, vowing to resist external pressures.
In a Friday interview on public radio, Orbán accused Brussels of attempting to influence Hungary’s government to align with EU policies.
They want to redirect us, but this goes against Hungary’s interests, and we will not comply, he stated.
Orbán criticized European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and European People’s Party leader Manfred Weber, claiming they see Hungary as “an enemy, not a partner or even an adversary,” and alleged they aim to force a change in Hungary’s leadership.
If dialogue fails, we will engage in a political fight to defend Hungary’s sovereignty, Orbán declared.
