Robert F. Kennedy Jr., nominated to head the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services in the new administration, has announced his intention to prove the Central Intelligence Agency’s (CIA) involvement in the assassination of his uncle, the 35th President of the United States, John F. Kennedy.
According to the publication, in his pursuit of evidence, Kennedy is supporting the candidacy of his sister-in-law, Amaryllis Fox-Kennedy, for the position of CIA Deputy Director. Fox-Kennedy, who has a decade of experience working as an undercover agent for the agency, is also the author of a memoir detailing her career.
Robert Kennedy claims to possess “irrefutable evidence” of the CIA’s involvement in John F. Kennedy’s assassination. Furthermore, he believes the agency may also be connected to the death of his father, Senator Robert F. Kennedy.
Axios notes that after Kennedy’s support during the election campaign, Donald Trump feels indebted to him and has expressed readiness to declassify documents related to John F. Kennedy’s assassination if he returns to the White House.
John F. Kennedy was assassinated on November 22, 1963, in Dallas, Texas, during an official visit. According to the investigation, the killing was carried out by lone gunman Lee Harvey Oswald. However, Oswald was never tried, as he was shot dead two days later by nightclub owner Jack Ruby while being transferred from the police station to the county jail. This event has spawned numerous conspiracy theories that continue to be debated to this day.
