Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has dismissed rumors surrounding a potential European peacekeeping mission in Ukraine, clarifying Poland’s stance during a joint press conference with French President Emmanuel Macron.
Tusk stated, “Decisions regarding Polish actions will be made in Warsaw, and only in Warsaw. At this time, we are not planning any such actions.”
Meanwhile, Macron highlighted Ukraine’s sovereignty in determining its path forward, saying, “Stable security in Ukraine means stable security in Europe,” while underscoring the importance of providing security guarantees to Kyiv.
The Polish newspaper Rzeczpospolita previously suggested that Macron might consider proposing a European peacekeeping mission in Ukraine to counter the risk of renewed Russian aggression. This topic was reportedly expected to dominate discussions during Macron’s visit to Warsaw on December 12.
