Fire erupts at nuclear research facility in Poland, two injured

A fire broke out at the National Centre for Nuclear Research near Warsaw, Poland, on Wednesday, December 18, causing two casualties. This was reported by the Polish public broadcaster RMF24.

According to journalists, the fire started in a building at the research center in Otwock, located near Warsaw. Two individuals were injured in the incident. RMF24 sources revealed that a gas explosion occurred in a laboratory that was rented by a third-party company.

Firefighters have since brought the blaze under control. The fire was reported to have occurred at a significant distance from the MARIA research reactor.
