A massive snowstorm left tens of thousands of homes in Bosnia without power on the eve of Christmas and caused transport chaos.
Movement of heavy vehicles was banned in three parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and in some areas, train services were halted. The state energy company of Bosnia stated that the situation was “extremely difficult” in certain regions as heavy snow brought down power lines.
Dozens of cars were stuck in the snow for 10 hours in the western part of the country overnight before they were able to continue their journey.
On Monday, it was reported that nearly 200,000 homes were without electricity, while trucks and other heavy vehicles were prohibited from traveling on roads in many areas.
