During a recent visit by Slovakia’s Prime Minister to Moscow, the possibility of holding peace negotiations between Russia and Ukraine on Slovak territory was discussed.
The initiative aims to use a neutral platform to seek compromises and resolve the ongoing conflict. Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that the Russian side has no objections to this initiative. According to him, choosing Slovakia as the venue for the talks could be a good decision, considering the country’s historical and geographical proximity to both sides of the conflict.
Prime Minister Robert Fico expressed Slovakia’s readiness to provide all the necessary conditions for successful negotiations, including logistical support and security guarantees for the delegations. He emphasized that Slovakia is committed to contributing to peace and stability in the region.
The Ukrainian side has not yet given an official response to the proposal, but experts note that using a neutral platform could create a more favorable atmosphere for dialogue.
