Popular YouTuber arrested in Spain for instructions on how to make explosives

The Spanish Civil Guard has arrested YouTuber HRom in Castro-Urdiales (Cantabria) for posting videos containing instructions on how to make explosives, such as thermite and gunpowder.

His channel, with over a million subscribers, featured content that posed a serious threat to public safety. During Operation “SPUTNIK,” authorities dismantled an underground workshop where HRom produced dangerous substances. They seized over 20 kilograms of chemical materials and various equipment. One video showcased the production of 30 kg of thermite, which he used to destroy a car, creating a fire hazard near a residential area and a forest.

The YouTuber faces charges of illegal manufacturing of explosives, arson, and resisting authorities. His activities came under investigation after a 2022 incident where someone used his instructions to make explosives, leading to that individual’s arrest and subsequent prison sentence.
