U.S. and Japan strengthen cooperation to deter nuclear threats

The United States and Japan have signed an agreement on new Guidelines for Extended Deterrence.

It was developed within the framework of the regular Dialogue on Extended Deterrence, which includes:

– improving consultations and communication between allies,
– introducing new mechanisms for strategic deterrence.

Key provisions of the document:

– strengthening US defense capabilities supported by Japan’s Self-Defense Forces;
– enhancing strategic communications to prevent potential threats;
– jointly utilizing advanced defense technologies and response measures.

The parties reaffirmed their commitment to continuing the development of deterrence mechanisms to ensure peace and security in the region.
