According to CTV News, three criminals used a car to ram the storefront to gain entry and made off with jewelry valued at approximately $700,000.
The incident occurred at night. The perpetrators acted quickly and in coordination: after the crash, they entered the store armed with a large hammer, metal rods, and what appeared to be firearms. All of them concealed their faces with balaclavas, making identification difficult.
The store owner, hearing the commotion, tried to confront the robbers and stop them. However, he was met with fierce resistance and was assaulted by the intruders. The man sustained injuries, the severity of which is currently being clarified.
Police have already launched an investigation. Forensic experts are working at the scene, analyzing traces left by the vehicle and the tools used in the crime. Surveillance footage from both the store and the surrounding area is being reviewed.
