American entrepreneur Elon Musk has stated that the right-wing German party Alternative for Germany (AfD) will achieve an “epic” victory in the upcoming elections in Germany.

Earlier, in an article for the German newspaper Welt, Musk described AfD as the only political force capable of preventing Germany from becoming a “shadow of its former self.” The publication sparked significant controversy. Eva Marie Kogel, the head of the opinion department at Welt, resigned following the article’s release, while Health Minister Karl Lauterbach publicly supported criticism of Musk’s commentary.
German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier previously announced the dissolution of the Bundestag and set early elections for February 23, 2025.
