Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta and founder of Facebook, met with Donald Trump at his Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida.
According to U.S. media, Zuckerberg flew to the meeting on his private Gulfstream G650 jet, parked next to Trump’s Boeing 757, which is being prepared for his inauguration as U.S. president. Details of their discussion remain unknown, but this is not their first contact. Previously, Trump and Zuckerberg have discussed future government policies and held several private phone conversations.
Zuckerberg has repeatedly expressed his willingness to cooperate with Trump in the fight against “censorship worldwide.” In one interview, he also criticized the administration of Joe Biden, claiming that it pressured Facebook during the pandemic to remove certain posts.
Furthermore, Zuckerberg donated one million dollars to Trump’s inauguration, which many analysts viewed as an attempt to establish ties with the future administration.
Recently, Zuckerberg has increasingly looked to Elon Musk’s model. For example, Meta recently dropped the fact-checking system on Facebook and Instagram, allowing users to independently flag false or misleading posts, similar to what Musk has implemented on his platform X.
