Syrian man throws feces and stone at Scholz’s office over Gaza “genocide”

A Syrian man has been arrested after throwing a stone and feces at the office of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, protesting what he called a “genocide” in Gaza. The incident occurred on Sunday morning, just two days after the same individual caused a disturbance at the Ministry of the Interior.

Reports indicate that the man arrived at the gates of the federal chancellery around 11:45 AM. After greeting the staff, he threw a bag containing both a stone and feces at the building’s security wall, causing part of the wall to break off.

Federal police quickly detained the 48-year-old Syrian, who was later handed over to the Berlin police. He was released afterward, and an investigation into the damage to the property is ongoing.

A spokesperson for Berlin police confirmed that the same individual had also vandalized the Ministry of the Interior’s building on Friday evening. At around 9:15 PM that night, he had appeared at the Ministry’s gates, demanding to speak with Chancellor Scholz to express his outrage over the Gaza situation, which he described as “genocide.” After being refused entry, the man threw a stone, damaging a window. He was detained by federal police and later released once his identity was confirmed.
