Right-wing leader in Bavaria calls for the deportation of Ukrainian refugees

Katrin Ebner-Steiner, head of the “Alternative for Germany” (AfD) faction in Bavaria’s state parliament, has declared that Ukrainian refugees should return to their homeland “immediately.”

The AfD faction in Bavaria’s parliament accuses the Christian Social Union (CSU), the ruling sister party of the Christian Democratic Union, of a “rightward drift” and “empty rhetoric” when it comes to migration policies.

According to Ebner-Steiner, only the AfD can “set Bavaria on the right path” and liberate the population “from the stranglehold of the old party state.” To prevent what she called a “flooding of the country by welfare recipients unwilling to integrate,” the AfD advocates for “comprehensive remigration.” This policy includes the deportation of all criminals and foreigners without residence rights, as outlined in the parliamentary group’s official “Future Plan.”

When asked specifically about Ukrainian refugees, Ebner-Steiner clarified that they, too, should leave Germany immediately, “even now.”

Ukraine, she argued, is a large country with “enough territories” where people can return.
