Washington has closed a low-altitude helicopter corridor near Reagan Airport

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has decided to temporarily close the low-altitude helicopter corridor near Reagan Airport following an aviation accident, according to CNN, citing a source within the FAA.

This action marks the most significant step taken by the FAA after the incident.

On Thursday night, a regional passenger plane, Bombardier CRJ700, operated by American Airlines, collided with a military Sikorsky H-60 (Black Hawk) helicopter while approaching for landing near Washington’s airport. There were 60 passengers and 4 crew members on board the passenger plane, and three people on board the helicopter. According to U.S. President Donald Trump, all individuals involved in the crash were killed.
