Trump announces meeting of representatives from Ukraine and Russia in Munich

U.S. President Donald Trump stated that a meeting involving representatives from Ukraine and Russia will take place as part of the Munich Security Conference.

He made this announcement to journalists at the White House on Thursday, February 13.

Trump was asked about the possibility of a visit by Vladimir Putin and other Russian representatives to Saudi Arabia, where Trump had previously proposed a meeting. He responded that it would happen “sooner or later.”

“There will be a meeting in Munich tomorrow (February 14 – Ed.). Russia will be there with our people. Ukraine is also invited, by the way. I’m not sure who will represent which country. But these will be high-ranking officials from Russia, Ukraine, and the U.S.,” Trump added.

Russia has not participated in the Munich Security Conference since 2022, and no official announcement has been made regarding its representatives’ attendance.
