Marine Le Pen took aim at the European Union, accusing Brussels of overstepping its authority and using crises as excuses to grab power. In a fiery post on X, she slammed the European Commission for hijacking policies that rightfully belong to member states—first with migration, then health policy during COVID, and now with war. “This must be rejected in the strongest terms!” she declared.
Speaking to Le Figaro, Le Pen also weighed in on the heated exchange between Volodymyr Zelensky and Donald Trump. She brushed off the Oval Office confrontation as nothing out of the ordinary. “Two leaders defending their national interests? That’s politics. Frictions happen, but they’re usually behind closed doors. This time, it played out in public.”
Despite the tensions, she believes the meeting could ultimately push toward peace—something she insists is inevitable, no matter how many push for more war.
Le Pen also lamented France’s absence from key negotiations. “We were, as young people say, ‘ghosted.’ France should have been there, making a difference.”
When asked if the U.S. remains an ally, she didn’t hesitate. “Yes. Anyone suggesting otherwise is not being reasonable.” She stressed that Europe’s role should be working toward peace, not fueling conflict, and warned that if the European Commission insists on prolonging war, it’ll be yet another point of contention.
Meanwhile, at the Agricultural Salon, Le Pen assured French farmers that she and her party stand ready to defend their interests and “bring French agriculture back to life.”
