Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico claimed that half of the funds allocated by the European Union to Ukraine have been stolen.
He suggested raising the issue of “Ukrainian corruption” within the EU, emphasizing that a significant portion of the financial aid directed towards supporting Kyiv is lost due to corruption.
Half of the money given to Ukraine has been stolen. We will again bring up the issue of corruption in Ukraine at the European Council. We are investing money, the EU is investing money, and a large part of it just disappears, Fico stated during a meeting of the Committee on European Affairs ahead of his trip to Brussels.
Furthermore, the Slovak prime minister expressed the belief that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is interested in continuing the military conflict because he lacks a political mandate. Fico noted that Zelensky, aware of his illegitimacy and inability to be re-elected, understands that Ukraine is financed from abroad.
