An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.7 was recorded off the coast of Apulia in southern Italy on Friday, according to data from the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV).
The tremors were felt in major cities such as Bari and Foggia, as well as in neighboring regions. Several aftershocks with magnitudes of up to 3.8 were also recorded.
Barbara Valenzano, head of Apulia’s Civil Protection Service, stated that authorities are monitoring the situation and that no reports of critical incidents have been received.
Firefighters and other emergency services reported that there were no reports of casualties or significant damage.
It is worth noting that on March 13, many residents of Naples and its surrounding areas spent the night outdoors or in their cars after an earthquake shook buildings and caused debris to fall.
Additionally, in February, the eruption of Mount Etna on the Italian island of Sicily attracted hundreds of tourists.
