Europol dismantled the largest platform with illegal content

Europol has announced the successful completion of an international operation that resulted in the shutdown of one of the world’s largest online platforms with illegal content. The investigation led to the identification of over a thousand individuals involved.

According to the official press release, the operation focused on the platform Kidflix, which was considered one of the largest of its kind. Since its launch in 2021, it had registered 1.8 million users. The platform’s activity was halted on March 11, 2025, when law enforcement authorities from Germany and the Netherlands seized its server, which contained approximately 72,000 video files.

Law enforcement agencies from 35 countries participated in the investigation. As a result of the operation, 1,400 individuals were identified worldwide, and 79 people have already been arrested. According to investigators, some of those detained not only distributed illegal materials but were also directly involved in committing crimes.

Kidflix allowed users to upload and view videos as well as stream content. Payments were made in cryptocurrency, with access prices varying depending on the video quality. Over the platform’s existence, more than 91,000 videos with a total duration of over 6,000 hours were uploaded.

This operation has become the largest in Europol’s history in the fight against crimes against children.
