The number of Ukrainian female refugees in Poland who wish to return to Ukraine after the war has significantly decreased over the past six months.
According to a report by Rzeczpospolita, only 31% of those surveyed currently have plans to return, down from 41% last autumn. Meanwhile, another third of the women plan to stay in Poland permanently, and 13% are interested in obtaining Polish citizenship.
Among the key conditions for returning to Ukraine, women cited the definitive end of the war (61%), the absence of military actions and airstrikes (40%), the availability of well-paid jobs (34%), and the elimination of corruption (31%). Only 5% mentioned the expiration of their temporary residence permit in Poland as a reason to return, and just 1% cited the termination of social benefits.
The study also highlighted that most Ukrainian refugees in Poland are from the middle class, with 60% employed, though many are working in jobs that do not match their qualifications.
