Poland to launch information campaign in seven countries to curb illegal migration

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has announced the preparation of a large-scale information campaign aimed at preventing illegal migration from seven countries that are the most common sources of asylum seekers.

According to Tusk, these migrants attempt to enter the European Union through Belarus and then cross into Poland. As reported by RMF24, the Polish head of government made this statement on the social media platform X. Tusk stated that the campaign will aim to convey a clear message to potential migrants: the Polish border is well protected.

As part of the campaign, it is planned to demonstrate that the border is guarded by the police, military, and border guard services, and is also reinforced with digital surveillance systems. Video materials will show the apprehension of individuals attempting to cross the border illegally.

Since the summer of 2024, a buffer zone ranging from several hundred meters to a few kilometers wide has been established along the most vulnerable sections of the border, including areas near Białystok and Hajnówka. Entry into this zone is prohibited.
