The Chinese video platform TikTok will continue operating in the United States for an additional 75 days. The decision was announced by U.S. President Donald Trump on his social media platform, Truth Social.
The extension is due to the need for more time to finalize the terms of a deal that would allow TikTok to continue its operations in the country on a permanent basis. The U.S. side is continuing negotiations with representatives of the Chinese company to resolve issues related to national security and trade.
It is expected that both parties will be able to reach a final agreement within the extended timeframe. U.S. authorities emphasize their intention to keep the platform in the American market and to continue cooperation with China, despite existing trade disagreements.
