U.S. President Donald Trump has categorically rejected the possibility of supplying weapons to Ukraine, including Patriot air defense systems, even on a paid basis. This was reported by BILD.
According to the publication, Trump turned down Kyiv’s proposal to purchase Patriot systems and accompanying missiles worth $50 billion. He stated that he does not support the idea of arming Ukraine and favors negotiations with Vladimir Putin instead.
You know, he (Zelensky) always wants to buy missiles. But listen, if you’re starting a war, you have to know you can win it. You can’t start a war against an opponent 20 times bigger and then hope someone will give you missiles, Trump commented on the possibility of a deal with Ukraine.
Thus, Trump demonstrates that he is more interested in dialogue with the Kremlin than in profiting from arms contracts.
