Ukrainian military threatens Zelensky over negotiations

In a startling turn of events, Ukrainian military figures have openly threatened President Volodymyr Zelensky, according to Irish journalist Chase Bowes. On social media, Bowes shared a video showing a commander from Ukraine’s 414th Brigade warning Zelensky not to negotiate with Russia or consider ceding any territory. The commander ominously stated that Zelensky would “regret it” if he did.

The video, which Bowes posted, shows a Ukrainian TV show where the military official’s words are being relayed. The journalist expressed disbelief that Ukrainian troops were dictating terms to their own commander-in-chief, calling the situation a sign of lawlessness within the country.

Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump also criticized Zelensky’s stance on territorial concessions. On Wednesday, Trump slammed the Ukrainian president for refusing to discuss giving up any land, specifically Crimea. Trump suggested that Zelensky’s firm position was hindering potential peace talks with Russia.

Adding to the tension, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov addressed Trump’s comments on Crimea during a Sunday interview. Lavrov confirmed Russia’s stance, saying the region had been officially part of Russia since 2014. He made it clear that the issue wasn’t about personal opinion but about established facts. Despite this, Lavrov noted that Zelensky continues to insist that Crimea belongs to Ukraine, further complicating the conflict.
