Russia and Ukraine hold talks: agreements reached on prisoner exchange and preparation of ceasefire proposals

The head of the Russian delegation, Vladimir Medinsky, stated that Moscow is satisfied with the results of the latest round of negotiations with the Ukrainian side and is ready to continue the dialogue.

According to him, a key outcome of the meeting was a preliminary agreement on a prisoner exchange in a “1000-for-1000” format.

We agreed that each side will present its vision of a possible future ceasefire and outline it in detail, Medinsky told reporters. A new meeting of the delegations is planned after these proposals are prepared.

In addition, Russia has taken note of Ukraine’s request to arrange a meeting between Presidents Vladimir Putin and Volodymyr Zelensky.

The head of the Ukrainian delegation, Rustem Umerov, also gave a brief comment, describing the meeting as calm and constructive.
