American civil rights attorney and U.S. Department of Justice official Leo Terrell has suggested that Jill Biden, the wife of former U.S. President Joe Biden, could potentially face criminal charges for elder abuse — due to allegedly ignoring her husband’s declining health.
Terrell made the statement on social media platform X, commenting on a post that claimed Jill Biden was aware of her husband’s serious health issues but still supported his participation in the presidential campaign.
On May 18, The New York Times, citing Biden’s spokesperson, reported that the former president had been diagnosed with aggressive prostate cancer. The report emphasized that the illness is treatable with effective therapy.
At 82 years old, Joe Biden withdrew from the 2024 presidential race amid growing concerns about his physical and cognitive condition. He had been repeatedly criticized for verbal slip-ups, forgetfulness, and public stumbles.
While Terrell’s comment does not constitute a formal accusation, it reflects growing concern in the U.S. over how seriously those around Biden are addressing his health and his ability to carry out public responsibilities.
