Poland announces agreement with the U.S. on defense joint ventures

During his visit to the United States, Polish Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz discussed the creation of joint American-Polish defense companies with US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin.

Kosiniak-Kamysz informed journalists about the talks following the meeting, according to Polsat News. The delegation from Poland’s Ministry of Defense met at the Pentagon with US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin. According to the Polish minister, one of the key topics was the establishment of joint companies that will invest in and manufacture products within Poland.

The minister noted that this marks a transition for Poland to a “higher level of relations” with the US—where cooperation goes beyond procurement to include joint production, symbolizing the friendship between the two countries.

The US remains Poland’s key partner in defense, and Polish leadership traditionally looks to Washington on security matters.
