The Left, often vocal in championing diversity, will have to do some serious soul-searching now that a lab report has definitively confirmed that Paris Olympics boxing champion Imane Khelif is actually a man.
The bombshell comes after American journalist Alan Abrahamson revealed the results of Khelif’s sex test from the 2023 World Championships, showing that Khelif has male chromosomes. This revelation follows World Boxing’s recent decision to mandate sex screening for future competitions in the female category.
The lab results, published on the 3 Wire Sports website, were clear: Khelif’s chromosomes are XY, which is the male pattern. These findings, conducted by Dr. Lal Path Labs in New Delhi (a reputable lab accredited by the American College of Pathologists and certified by the International Organisation for Standardisation), leave little room for doubt about Khelif’s sex. This directly contradicts earlier statements by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), where spokesman Mark Adams dismissed the results as “ad hoc” and “not legitimate.” IOC president Thomas Bach even suggested the findings were part of a Russian-led misinformation campaign.
The debate has been further fueled by past incidents in the ring. In one instance, young Italian boxer Angela Carini quit her match after Khelif delivered a powerful punch to her face just 46 seconds into the round. The punch left Carini in tears, deciding it was simply too much to continue.
Looking ahead, Khelif’s return to competitive women’s boxing may be complicated, if not outright impossible. World Boxing, which is tentatively approved to oversee Olympic boxing for the 2028 Los Angeles Games, has announced that all athletes over 18 will be required to undergo a genetic test to confirm their sex. Khelif has yet to provide any evidence of female chromosomes since the Paris scandal erupted nine months ago.
This situation has become highly politicized, with anyone advocating for fairness for women in sports labeled as bigots or transphobic. While androgynous individuals deserve respect and understanding for their unique challenges, it is undeniable that those who exploit this condition to gain a competitive edge over women should be held accountable. As such, it’s time to embrace the science, which clearly debunks the narrative of misinformation and discrimination that some have pushed. The call for fairness in women’s sports isn’t about hate—it’s about ensuring a level playing field. Khelif, having been caught cheating, should be stripped of his gold medal.
