Bannon rips Netanyahu over influence on Trump and US foreign policy

Steve Bannon launched a blistering attack on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu this week, accusing him of overstepping and attempting to control U.S. foreign policy.

On his “War Room” podcast, the former Trump strategist demanded, “Who in the hell are you to lecture the American people?” as he criticized Netanyahu’s role in pushing the U.S. into Israel’s ongoing conflict with Iran.

Bannon, who has become a prominent voice within the MAGA movement, has been vocal in warning that U.S. involvement in Israel’s war with Iran could fracture the “America First” coalition and end Trump’s political career. He and fellow right-wing commentator Tucker Carlson have both cautioned the former president against siding with Israel in its escalating conflict with Iran, warning that such a move could alienate Trump’s base and unravel his promises to end “forever wars.”

Reports suggest that while President Trump had privately approved attack plans against Iran, he was withholding a final order in hopes of convincing Tehran to abandon its nuclear program. As Israel continues its airstrikes, the U.S. is considering using massive bunker-busting bombs to target Iran’s underground nuclear facilities.

Bannon was particularly outraged by Netanyahu’s comments this week, where the Israeli leader urged the U.S. to support Israel, claiming that without America’s help, Israel would be left vulnerable. “Today it’s Tel Aviv, tomorrow it’s New York,” Netanyahu stated, warning against isolating Israel in its war. He also criticized Trump’s MAGA supporters, accusing them of backing away from the president’s foreign policy stance.

During the “War Room” broadcast, Bannon blasted Netanyahu for undermining Trump’s efforts to negotiate with Iran and pushing for “regime change” in the region. He slammed Netanyahu for trying to “drag” the U.S. into a situation it couldn’t resolve, saying, “Quit coming to us to finish it. Go finish it yourself.”

Bannon also took aim at Fox News commentators, particularly the hawkish voices on the network who he believes are pushing Trump to escalate the conflict. He seemed to direct much of his frustration at weekend host Mark Levin, a vocal pro-war advocate, accusing Fox and its owners of trying to sideline Trump and promote other Republican figures like Ron DeSantis and Nikki Haley, who Bannon believes have no chance of winning national elections.

“You’re going to question her, call her a pipsqueak from Georgia? Who are you?!” Bannon shouted, referring to criticism of Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene from some Fox pundits. He also lambasted Fox for allegedly undermining Trump’s 2016 campaign, claiming the network had “kneecapped” him from the start due to personal animus.

Bannon’s fiery comments reflect a deepening divide within the MAGA movement over U.S. foreign policy, particularly regarding the conflict between Israel and Iran, as Trump weighs the impact of his next move.
