Czech Republic faces possible EU lawsuit over delay in cybersecurity legislation

The Czech Republic may face legal action from the European Union for failing to adopt regulations and other legal acts related to the new cybersecurity law on time.

This was reported by Radio Prague International, citing data from the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

According to the Czech MFA, the EU has already launched proceedings in the case and has called on the Czech side to explain to Brussels by July 7 why the necessary documents have not yet been adopted.

The ministry also recommended that all required changes be adopted and properly communicated as soon as possible.

According to the National Cyber and Information Security Agency, which is responsible for submitting these documents, the final publication date will depend on the number of comments received and the time needed to process them. “We expect the regulations may be published in October–November 2025,” the agency noted.
