In Istanbul, all educational institutions have suspended classes due to heavy snowfall.
The announcement was made by Istanbul Governor Davut Gül on X.
Gül emphasized that the ongoing snowfall is “negatively affecting life due to the cold weather.”
“According to meteorological data, snowfall and a drop in temperatures are expected to continue throughout the city. For this reason, on Wednesday, February 12, classes in all educational institutions in Istanbul will be suspended for one day,” he stated.
Additionally, certain workers have been granted administrative leave. “People with disabilities, individuals with chronic illnesses, and pregnant employees of government institutions and organizations will be considered on administrative leave on Wednesday, February 12,” the governor added.
