Starting in April, Czech Post will implement changes to its parcel delivery system, resulting in longer delivery times for regular letters and “priority” correspondence, which incurs an additional fee.
However, priority mail will not be affected by these changes. The new system, currently being tested, will be fully rolled out across the country in April.
Under the revised system, couriers delivering regular economic mail will cover five different zones, rotating them daily. As a result, delivery times will depend on when the item is submitted and which day of the week the courier’s schedule covers the recipient’s area.
To clarify, if a letter is submitted on Monday, the recipient might not receive it until the following Monday—if their area falls under the courier’s Monday delivery zone. If their area is served on Tuesday, however, the letter will arrive the next day.
