The British government has imposed sanctions on an Iranian criminal network based in Sweden and its leader, citing the group’s involvement in attacks on Israeli and Jewish sites across Europe.
The UK has frozen the assets of the group, known as the Foxtrot Network, as well as the assets of Rawa Majid, who has also been banned from entering the country. According to the government, Majid is the leader of the network.
“Britain has targeted this criminal network and its leader Rawa Majid for their involvement in violence against Jewish and Israeli sites in Europe on behalf of the Iranian regime. The UK will not tolerate these threats,” said Foreign Secretary David Lammy.
However, Lammy did not specify which particular incidents were being referred to.
It’s worth noting that on Monday, April 14, European Union foreign ministers also imposed sanctions on Iran in response to the detention of EU citizens.
