Rubio to meet French foreign minister in Paris on April 17

On Thursday, April 17, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio will meet with his French counterpart Jean-Noël Barrot in Paris.

This was reported to Reuters by a well-informed source within French diplomatic circles.

According to the source, Rubio will discuss the war in Ukraine, the situation in the Middle East, and nuclear negotiations with Iran during his talks with Barrot.

Rubio will visit Paris together with U.S. presidential envoy Steve Witkoff, who met with Russian President Vladimir Putin last week.

The trip, previously reported by the media, will mark the first visit by senior U.S. officials to France since Vice President J.D. Vance attended the AI summit in February. France, alongside the United Kingdom, is leading a group of countries working on potential security guarantees for Ukraine.
