A knife attack near a supermarket in the town of Rochlitz, located in the federal state of Saxony, Germany, left two people injured, according to DW.
Police reports state that the attacker was waiting near the store entrance and suddenly assaulted a 59-year-old woman as she was exiting the supermarket, stabbing her with a knife. An 18-year-old employee from a nearby shop rushed to help the woman but was also injured by the attacker.
Bystanders managed to restrain the assailant until the police arrived. During the arrest, the suspect put up fierce resistance and even attacked the officers. Both victims were taken to the hospital, and their injuries are not life-threatening.
According to authorities, the suspect had previously been banned from entering the supermarket. He is currently in custody, and an investigation into the incident is underway.
