Trump said Zelensky is ready to “give up Crimea” and wants to make a deal

U.S. President Donald Trump stated in an interview with Fox News that Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky is allegedly ready to “give up Crimea.”

According to Trump, during their meeting in Rome, Zelensky spoke about Crimea “very briefly.”

Crimea was given away by Barack Obama and Joe Biden 11 or 12 years ago. That was a long time ago. I told them: you better go ask Obama why they gave it away, Trump noted.

The American president also added that the meeting with Zelensky went “well,” emphasizing that the Ukrainian leader has “become calmer” and “wants to make a deal.” Trump pointed out that Zelensky once again asked for more weapons, as he has been doing for “three years.”

Assessing the situation on the front lines, Trump stressed that Ukraine is fighting against a “much larger army” and highlighted the importance of U.S. assistance totaling $350 billion.

In addition, Trump commented on relations with Russia. He promised to assess his trust in Russian President Vladimir Putin in the coming weeks and announced his intention to hold talks with him.
