A tram collision in central Warsaw on Tuesday morning left 18 people injured, including one of the drivers, after two trams collided at the Charles de Gaulle roundabout.
The accident involved tram No. 7, which struck the rear of tram No. 9 as both were traveling toward Zawisza Square. Six people, including the driver, were taken to the hospital, while the conditions of the remaining injured are still being assessed.
Over 30 emergency personnel were deployed to the scene to assist with the response.
Preliminary findings suggest a technical failure in one of the trams may have triggered the crash, though a full investigation is still underway to determine the precise cause.
Tram services have been halted in both directions along Jerusalem Avenue. While the tram queue at the crash site has been cleared, car traffic in the area remains slow but passable.
