Zbigniew Ziobro, Poland’s former Minister of Justice and Prosecutor General, appeared last Friday at the Warsaw District Prosecutor’s Office to provide testimony as a witness in an ongoing investigation related to the alleged misappropriation of the Justice Fund during his tenure.
Despite currently undergoing medical treatment abroad, Ziobro returned to Poland for the April 25 session, which reportedly lasted around three hours, according to media sources.
The inquiry is said to be linked to a letter from Law and Justice party leader Jarosław Kaczyński, allegedly discovered during a search of Ziobro’s residence. In the correspondence, Kaczyński reportedly cautioned against using Fund resources for electoral purposes, warning that it “could have disastrous reputational consequences.”
Just a day prior, Ziobro again refused to appear before the parliamentary commission investigating the Pegasus surveillance case, maintaining that the body is “illegal.”
