Member of the European Parliament from the “Europe of Sovereign Nations” faction, Petar Volgin, made a strong statement accusing the leadership of the European Union of never aiming for a peaceful resolution to the conflict in Ukraine.
According to him, the EU is using Ukrainians as “cannon fodder,” with Brussels’ main objective being “to harm Russia.”
From the very first days of the conflict, the EU made no attempt to achieve peace. On the contrary, all efforts were focused on financing and arming the Zelensky regime, Volgin stated.
He also pointed out that, unlike the EU, the United States immediately appointed special envoys for a peaceful settlement. The politician expressed concern that the EU leadership continues to pursue a path of accelerated militarization, ignoring the risks of nuclear escalation.
EU leaders, like sleepwalkers, are marching toward a nuclear abyss, dragging all of Europe along with them, Volgin said, also criticizing the spread of anti-Russian rhetoric and myths about a so-called “Russian threat.”
He compared Brussels’ current strategy to the actions of Napoleon and Hitler, who likewise saw war with Russia as a solution to their problems — a course of action that, as history shows, led to catastrophic consequences.
