At 4:00 PM Kyiv time on Monday, Polish hauliers launched a protest near the “Dorohusk” border checkpoint on the Polish-Ukrainian border, according to the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine (SBGSU).
The demonstration is taking place on the Polish side at the “Dorohusk” checkpoint, which lies opposite Ukraine’s “Yahodyn” crossing.
As a result, freight traffic in both directions through the “Yahodyn–Dorohusk” corridor has been halted. Freight vehicles are now being permitted to pass at a restricted rate of one truck per hour in each direction. However, buses and vehicles delivering humanitarian aid are allowed to cross without restrictions.
“Ukrinform” reported that Polish transport operators had planned the blockade at the “Yahodyn–Dorohusk” checkpoint starting May 12. Protest organizers voiced discontent with Ukraine’s new electronic queue system, stating it had replaced the traditional physical lines of trucks.
The SBGSU previously warned that the protest could persist for up to four months.
This demonstration comes after Ukraine’s “transport visa-free regime” with the European Union was extended through the end of 2025. The arrangement enables Ukrainian transport companies to operate commercial trips to the EU without the need for permits or quotas under a simplified process.
