The Dutch Ministry of Defence has announced an increase in the military’s readiness level from A to A+, citing escalating threats across the European continent.
According to official reports, the Dutch parliament has already been informed of this decision. The elevated A+ readiness level includes the implementation of additional security measures. Defence authorities are urging personnel to remain particularly vigilant regarding suspicious individuals, vehicles, packages, and drones, and to report any concerning activity without delay.
Commanders have been instructed to promptly communicate the updated readiness status to all subordinates and to ensure strict compliance with the new measures.
The decision to raise the readiness level is based on a threat assessment conducted by the Military Intelligence and Security Service (MIVD). According to the Ministry of Defence, both internal and external factors contributed to the decision, including the rising level of threats within Europe.
